Summer Solstice - Yin Yoga & Sound Healing

Join Deana Bacon for this nurturing Friday evening. We will be honoring the powerful eclipse season solstice, and the transition from the longest day of light as we end the month of June.
Within this workshop, Deana will blend the yoga postures (Asana) and the yoga of sound (Nada) with a seasonally balancing restorative yin yoga practice including the healing benefits of Reiki.

Weaving in breath-work and micro-meditation practices Deana will take you on a journey physically and mentally with the aim of aiding a skillful seasonal transition from spring, (relating to liver,) and summer (relating to the heart.) Elementally from wood to fire. The practice will conclude with sacred sounds utilizing crystal singing bowls to give the body an opportunity to absorb the residue of the physical practice and continue the process of deep release and transformation.

This practice is suitable for all levels.

Journey Through the Rainbow Bridge: A Chakra Balancing Workshop

Explore your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual layers of being with Yin, Gentle Flow, Restorative yoga, Reiki & Breath-Work. Reveal your mindset, habits and ways of being that may be creating blocks in our body. 

Adjusting stuck patterns is an empowering form of self-healing. This workshop is about moving the body, utilizing our breath and releasing from the body where we may have held old stuck patterns.

We each have an incredible healing potential, that almost every physical condition has an emotional element behind it. Therefore nothing physical can ever be fully healed without considering the energetic patterns in the body. The physical symptoms are the messenger.

We will focus on each Chakra - reflecting on the physical body parts, the elements, the mind and its patterns of thought, emotional ways of being and habits we have formed. Included in this workshop will be meditations, mudras, and inspirations to shift into our truest nature.

Relief for Neck and Shoulder Pain

Does your neck feel stiff? Do you have tight shoulders or a rounded tech neck?

If so, you're not alone. According to the American Osteopathic Association, more than 25% of Americans will experience neck pain at some point in their lives. The good news is yoga can help relieve neck muscle tension and strain. 

Shoulder pain is a common condition that impacts people of all ages and activity levels. The shoulder is the most mobile joint in your body. It needs your care for long-term mobility and strength. Yoga poses and stretches practiced with optimal alignment and body awareness will help.

Tech neck can lead to pinched nerves, herniated disks, or spinal degeneration. Our heads weigh about 11 pounds. Tilting it forward by 15 degrees can put 27 pounds of pressure on the neck and spine. 

This workshop will provide you with effective ways to relieve your neck and shoulder discomfort. Learn to move in ways that realign your posture to help release tension and promote positive functional movement patterns. Restore strength, stability and freedom to these key areas of your body. You'll leave this class feeling ease and spaciousness in your neck, spine and shoulder area.

When this energy center is pessimistic we can be intolerant, fear intimacy and suffer from depression. When this energy center is hyper-active we can be clingy, jealous and demanding of others. When in balance, our lives are balanced and we are both compassionate and self accepting. The entire practice including the asana, restorative poses, visualizations and meditation will be designed to bring balance to this energy center.

The practice begins with a gentle flow followed by restorative poses utilizing bolsters, eye pillows, rose and lavender essential oils. Hands on assist including reiki will be offered.

Yoga for Your Spine: Back in Balance

Back pain impacts most of us at some point. It can be caused by injury, poor posture, repetitive motion, or aging. Getting older is inevitable, pain is not. Experts agree that routine strengthening and stretching can both prevent and relieve symptoms. When your spine and pelvis are in alignment and your actions are balanced, you gain resilience and stability.

In this hands-on workshop, we will explore the therapeutic power of yoga to support the body’s natural healing and restorative process. You will learn common causes of back pain, postures that reduce strain and stabilize the spine, and techniques for back pain prevention, relief, and support. We'll have a restorative practice to end the session.

Ultimately the management and health of your spine is your responsibility. Be informed. Be your own best caretaker!

Current instructors, aspiring teachers, and students of All Levels are welcome in this workshop.

Yoga Alliance® Continuing Education (CE) credits are available for 2.0 contact hours.

Pillars of Postpartum Strength

Whether you have lofty fitness goals, or simply want more stability in daily life, every body benefits from building a strong foundation. Though these pillars apply to ALL bodies- this workshop is mom-minded. We’ll work with, not against, the immense changes women's bodies undergo through pragnany and delivery, and connect with the unique patterns our bodies present.

Learn how to build strength from the ground up. No, really– explore everything from the feet to the brain, with many pit stops between. You will leave with the confidence to apply the skills learned- in 5-10 minute sessions and using simple household objects.

Amanda Stefanik is a mama passionate about helping other moms build strength. After multiple injuries throughout pregnancy and early postpartum, Amanda sought certification as a Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. This work has built trust and confidence in her own body again, and serves as a wonderful complement to her background in yoga, barre, and strength training.

Sensation & Sound

Join Annakathryn and Elaine O'Rourke for an evening of yoga and sound healing. Anna will guide you through deep and potent flow to awaken and purify the bodymind and fully prepare you to receive the sound healing. Elaine will then bathe you in sounds of Tibetan bowls, gong and chanting. Space is very limited. Please preregister to ensure your spot.
