Yoga + Movement

We seek to create an environment where people can experience embodiment through the practice of yoga.

We believe that humans are bio-psycho-social beings. Our health is composed of our physical body (genetics, chemistry, nervous system, immune responses) mental state (childhood, past experiences, beliefs) and social connections (family, friends, relationships, community). Each influences the other, and to understand health you must consider all three. We believe health should be prioritized as a means of living a life with more ease, freedom and joy, not for fitting standards of beauty.

We believe yoga is a bio-psycho-social practice. It is not simply an exercise program for physical health, treating only the body. We acknowledge the interconnectedness of the three branches of physical, mental and social and strive to share classes that will nourish all three aspects.

We believe yoga is both an embodiment practice and a movement practice. We use yoga to cultivate resilient and capable bodies and minds so that people can experience more ease, freedom and joy. The human being is a wondrous creation and within us lies powerful antidotes to the stressors and build-up of life. When we move and breath together in a safe space, it creates a response in the brain/body/being that makes us feel different (better, relaxed, energized, connected, clear, light, empowered, alive). And thats not just woo, its science, baby.

We believe movement is a celebration of being alive.

It is not a punishment for eating certain foods. It is not a requirement to fit a standard of beauty. We move for the simple joy of it. Even when it’s hard. Even when it’s soft. Embodied movement is an experience with yourself, your whole being. This is our earthly body. The body with which we experience our life. How will you choose to experience yours?
